Well this review can't be on the book itself too much. In NJ you need this book to take the Fire Instructor 1 class if you want to be able to take the test to become a certified Fire Instructor. I mean it is a book, it's expensive and it has a lot of information in it. Compared to another Fire Instructor class I took this book has a lot more information in it, but that class was more about giving presentations, and this book is more on the the fundamentals of adult learning. If you did take another instructor class that the DFS in NJ accepts and you are going to try to test out without taking the Fire Instructor 1 class, do yourself a favor and buy this book. The test is from this book, and other classes may not prepare you for the test. Also look for the companion Android Test/Study app and you will not have a problem with the test.

The text is pretty dry but YOU HAVE TO READ AND UNDERSTAND the whole thing. Read it twice even. This book can prepare you for one of the hardest tests you'll ever take. You might also want to buy the supplemental workbook.

Writing reviews when you've got other things to do is a sacrifice, but I know that I appreciate thought out ones bc they help me, so I hope this helps others get what they're looking for. Here goes: I took piano lessons as child, a few as teenager and never made it very far. I can play a few church hymns and primary songs, and nearly any piece I want to as long as I practice long enough. I wanted some music that wouldn't take me all year to learn, but that sound pretty, and that I can sing along too. I know a big order for a girl who never did her practicing, right?.I really like this book. Some of the arrangements are prettier piano pieces than others, but I am very satisfied with my purchase. The selection of songs is really good, the lyrics are there and some of the pieces I sat down and nearly played right through, (but they're not BIG Note ;) So I can play pretty arrangements that hold the melody line and sing along. They are not difficult, but a challenge enough for me on timing and to play through perfectly that its good practice for me too. I was looking for a book to use for the family to sing around the piano while I play. When people are singing, I want a piano arrangement that enhances the singing -- not one that shows off my keyboarding skills. This book is the best I have found so far.I like the size and font of the pages; the pages are clear and uncluttered, with the notes big enough to easily read. I am a good sight reader, and the songs are easy enough. Most are written in the keys of C, F-sharp, or B-flat (the first 3 keys a beginner learns). However, most are probably too difficult for a beginner; you need to be able to handle sharps, flats, naturals, common chords, and must be able to coordinate your left hand with the music. I would consider this a good book for beginning intermediate pianists, or possibly advanced beginners who are willing to put in a little work practicing.Some of the arrangements are very good; however, some have rather odd notes in the left hand. Other versions I have played have more intuitive left hands that are actually easier to play and sound better. I took off one star because of this.

Exactly what I was looking for in a Christmas song book. This music book is perfect for people like me who used to take piano lessons as a child, but have just gotten back into playing the piano again as an adult. I found that all of the songs sounded very similar to the original versions but were easy to pick up and play the first time without too much practice. I also really like that there is some flow/melody in the left hand at times and it is not all chords, which is something I often look for in piano music. Very pleased with this purchase!

I use this to practice my sight reading of piano textures as a pianist in college. The songs are easy and in simple keys (few accidentals in the key signature). Many are arranged in contemporary styles and all of them are analyzed with popular music symbols. So this can also provide sight reading practice for those who accompany using chord symbols (as many improvisers do). Or just play them for fun! Use cation when playing them during the summer, some people can't stand Christmas tunes...P.S. I almost gave it 4 stars, but then I realized the reason was merely because my taste in music is more classical. If you like most of the popular Christmas songs, you should enjoy playing these arrangements by Dan Coates.

This Christmas music book was excellent for learning basic and fun holiday songs. As a retired adult, I finally have time to devote to playing the piano. I've been learning to play the piano diligently for nine months on my own. Three weeks ago, I began to play these songs for sight reading. I realized that I could play every one of the 40 songs in the book! Last night, using this book, I was able to play on the grand piano in church between Christmas Eve masses. The only difficult piece is the bridge in Sleigh Ride. I've added in some slight chord changes and notes, but you can really add to these songs easily if you have the basic skills. I love this book and highly recommend it.

The songs in this book are at just the right level for me. I've been taking piano for two years and I can play all of these songs (although a little slowly). They sound good and they are not too difficult, but difficult enough that i have to think about where my fingers are going.

These songs are very easy to learn and play (even sight read). They sound fun, cheerful, and festive. It's def a keeper and I'll play this year and years to come!

I like that the pages and big and easy to read. But the compositions are not very good. A few songs I swear the left hand was out of tune with the right. Maybe I’m traditional but I want my Christmas music to sound like the songs we all know by heart. Some of these arrangements are just not hitting the mark. Would send it back but not worth the cost

Waste of money, I failed the test. I even bought the CertMaster bundle with a free test retake and still failed the 200-902 test. I passed it on the second try with the free test retake voucher. This book is not all that great just some study practice questions that didn't help me too much. I paid 1 or 2 dollars so I guess I can't really complain.

Be aware that these are NOT the full versions of these texts - they have been abridged (the main reason for my personal choice of star rating). That being said, if you wish to gain knowledge of the texts without having to go through the entire texts, this is a good start. Burton and Arbuthnot are the go-to authors for the translation in English - I recommend their other works as well. Note that the artwork is NOT contemporary to the original texts. As some people noted, if you want to use this as a how-to sex guide for positions only, this will not serve you. I recommend that you read this anyway for reasons elaborated below. Actually, much of the art is not MEANT to be imitated as (according to a professor of visual rhetoric that taught this text), the vertical presentation conveys to concepts more effectively in solid media (wood, stone, and some paint) than if it were horizontal. Consider how the eye would have to take in horizontal representations on the temples. It is not that it isn't done, but it is more effective vertically, it seems. I also feel that there is a bit of artistic license and fantasy in some of the images which is fun in its own right if that is kept in mind. Aside from this, it is recommended that this be read this anyway as it offers wisdom in incorporating a healthy and balanced sex life in your overall existence - something that we in the West lack awareness of, sadly. It also offers advice for things to be aware of and sensitive to in your partner. The Perfumed Garden is a bit different in that respect as it is from a different culture (Islam) which is not so sensitive to the feminine aspect, but as a historical text, it is interesting as a way of tracing the history of the development of gender perspective. Also be aware that the Ananga-Ranga was written based on the Kama Sutra, so it is a bit repetitive, but of value if you wish to see the changes in perspective over the centuries and the value of what was kept. Again, it is a good start for someone wishing to learn the concepts behind these texts, but not if you wish to know all of the details.

this book is only around 155 pages but it does have alot of classic ancient photos it covers everything from marriage to the female organs. very insightful interesting book.

If you are interested in Kama Sutra, Ananga Ranga or The Perfumed Garden or are not sure which you would like to study, this book is a great starting point. Although all the works are very similiar, this allows you a synopsis of each text and is helpful in determing which or all that you wish to persue further. The illustrations are beautifully done. Not for in-depth reading or review, but more an icebreaker.

Interesting from a historical perspective and does give a good explanation of the philosophy.

This isn't what I thought it would be.

I'm sure this will be a fine book once I get more involved with it. I bought it as a reference book but have been preoccupied with a few other books I bought so have not given it the time it deserves.

Of course these positions aren't impossible for a human, but it would take a lifetime of stretching before the woman would be able to get into the positions described and depicted.Don't buy this book if you are looking for a book filled with different sexual positions to try. If you are looking for a book that presents sexuality as a natural, healthy, fun part of life, this book contains the classics. The pages are filled with large, beautiful prints of paintings and pictures of sculptures showing people in seemingly every possible sexual position (though virtually all of them are impossible to anyone with joints and bones). The text of the three books is abridged, with only a very small fraction of the Kama Sutra reprinted in this book.If you want a book that treats sexuality as the beautiful and natural part of life that it should still be, then consider buying this book. It has been around for centuries (the Kama Sutra for more than a millenium, if memory serves), and is well worth reading. But if you think you'll learn any practicable techniques, you'll be disappointed.

This is the Bible of dental books on small animal dentistry. Even though it is in black and white, there are pictures and just about every topic is covered from scaling teeth to dental surgery. Pictures of scalers, and polishers, types of drugs used and step-by-step procedures will be useful for beginners to experts. May I eat my words if this book does not prove to be worth its weight in gold!

For the average technician in a small animal practice, I think this book is informative and useful. It's a very complete book regarding small animal dentistry and everything involved, from ananatomy to anesthesia to abnormalities. It's a great book to be used as a textbook in a technician program. I recommend this book for both the new technician just starting out or for the experienced technician looking for a refresher or a review book.

This volume is very informative for the techs who perform not only routine prophylaxis procedures on cats and dogs but also simple restorative procedures...a boon to our practice!
