I bought this book for help with Excel formulas, but the book doesn’t even have them. The screen shots in the book are too small and in black and white which makes them difficult to read. Too much attention to the book’s web site and not enough information to be useful.

I purchased this text book to teach myself excel 2016 and 2013, however, when I got it the template images were so dim, blurry and poor, it hurts my eyes trying to read them. I decided to return it because I could not use and not worth my investment.

This is an excellent resource to help study for the MOS exam. I found the timed exercises at the end to be extremely helpful.

I didn't travel with it, but it had great intricate maps of Argentina that looked useful!

Typical good quality Nat-Geo map. Worth the cost.

Lots of detail.

Has a lot of detail, though I wish the country border was a little better defined. Easily fixed though, I traced over it with a marker.

National geo maps are always the best, the plastic coating on them is helpful when your in the car and you spill a little something on it, alot of foreign county's don't have gps. if they do there are, they are not as in depth as the map

good detailed info for its size. lots of small towns, lakes, and road # shown. medium & large rivers are labeled. a has spot elevations bur could use more. a very good reference map, and seems better than the European produced similar unit.

I love these maps. This map folds well and is easy to read. I think it will last over time.

As with most National Geographic topographic maps, this is a very good resource identifying cities, beaches, monuments, national parks, World Heritage sites, waterfalls, ski areas, of spas in the target country. Highly recommended.

I have been programming since 1968. I coded in FORTRAN, COBOL, T-SQL, Access VBA, VB6 and limited Visual Studio VB.NET and I needed a book to teach me the ins and outs of VB2015 because I am targeting all my future code in that environment. This is a basic level book that I recommend everyone to read before diving deeply into Visual Studio VB.NET. The examples are excellent and the explanations assume nothing. I am excited to read the next book on VB2015 (Beginning Visual Basic by Newsome), which dives a little deeper. Then I should finish my training with Visual Basic 2015 Unleashed by Del Sole). I'll review those two when I finish them.Foxall is a great communicator and teacher.Don't pass-up reading this masterpiece.Hour 21 cost me an hour or two trying to figure out why there was a problem. Firstly, he refers to an MDB (which is an Access extension) when he really meant an MDF (a SqlServer extension). After that, he refers to the table as "Contacts" in his code sample when he meant "tblContacts".. These were the ONLY errors in the book. I also had to convert his Sql2014 MDF to Sql2016. - no great shakes.

I am a career IBM mainframe applications programmer who is ramping up to reenter the IT profession. This was a very good "baby steps" kind of book to break into Visual Studio 2015 and object oriented programming. The combination of screen shots and step by step instructions was very helpful.If anyone cares, I went through the book on a Windows 10 Professional machine using SQL Server 2014 and Visual Studio Community 2015.Make sure to go to James Foxall's web site and read the errata before starting the book. That may save you a bit of time.Sadly, the book breaks down badly in Chapter 21, working with a database. The reader is instructed to download the contacts.mdb database from James Foxall's web site, and you'd think it would be in the downloads for this book, but it isn't. In fact, if you go to Mr. Foxall's site and look at the discussion threads, problems locating sample databases mentioned in his books seems to be a recurring theme.I never did find contacts.mdb, so I downloaded the Adventure Works sample SQL database and adapted the material in chapter 21 to use it. Just recently, a poster at Mr. Foxall's site said he located the contacts.mdb database in the downloads for the 2008 version of this book. Too late for me.This book will get you at least comfortable with the Visual Studio 2015 IDE, but just scratch the surface of it's functionality. And, when you finish the book you likely won't be able to code anything that anyone would actually want to use, but you'll be on you way.After this book I went through Beginning Visual Basic 2015 by Bryan Newsome, that book covers a lot of the same material but in a very different way. This book starts with the IDE and works into the code, and Newsome's book starts with the code and works out into the IDE. Two books are often better than one, and I'm glad I went through them both. Between the two, I gained the confidence to make the leap to C#, which I'm learning now.

I like the way this book presents the material. I'm working through it, and though I am quite familiar with many of the concepts, the presentation does fill in some missing bits of knowledge that I can use.I do suggest running Visual Studio at the same time, and doing the steps as the author recommends. It is a great way to reinforce what is being presented.

Good introduction to VB 2015. Weak at times but overall worth it for an introduction.

Unlike others which teaches you how to do programming from the command prompt...this actually allows you to make an actual project which works as an app.

There are lots of huge gaps in these 24 hourly lessons. Case in point: printing. He teaches how to print an image, but a multi-page document is another matter and he doesn't cover this at all. You would be hard pressed to try to write a useful desktop program with only this as a guide. The difficulty is that VB 2015 is new enough that there is little text out yet. The days of Microsoft Press producing a Language Reference, Controls Guide and Programmers Guide are well behind us and to our detriment.

This book is an excellent companion book to the author's Ice Breakers! How To Get Any Prospect To Beg You For A Presentation. This book gives you several useful ways to establish a quick rapport with sales prospects. I can see how these methods would work equally well if you are in MLM or if you are in sales...recruiting or selling.Essentially, you are getting several quick "sentence starters" that will help you build agreement with your prospect, that you can build on in your main presentation. Certainly worth reading, even for experienced salespeople.And the author is a gifted writer. Every book of his I've read (I think I've read them all) are written in a breezy conversational style that makes it enjoyable. Never preachy. And the author gives you plenty of examples where you can use these methods in different kinds of selling.I certainly recommend the book, if you are in any kind of sales.

This was written by an MLM guy, for MLM people. I've yet to find a really good sales book from an MLM person. This book has some interesting insights but it's more geared towards platform selling (ie in a living room trying to recruit people the MLM). There are far better books on this subject. I highly recommend 'It's not about "ME"' - written by a former FBI agent. Great proven material.

John F. Hartwig is the Henry Rapoport Chair in Organic Chemistry and Professor of Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley. Professor Hartwig received his A. B. degree from Princeton and his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. Subsequently, he was an American Cancer Society Postdoctoral Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, joined the Yale University faculty in 1992, and joined the University of Illinois chemistry faculty in July 2006. Professor Hartwig s research focuses on the discovery and mechanistic understanding of organic reactions catalyzed by organometallic complexes. He was one of the originators of palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions to form carbon-heteroatom bonds, as well as palladium-catalyzed coupling of enolates and catalytic functionalization of the terminal C-H bonds in alkanes. He was elected to the National Academy of Sciences in 2012, and was the recipient of the 2008 Mukaiyama Award from the Society of Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Japan, the 2008 International Catalysis Award from the International Association of Catalysis Societies, the 2008 Paul N. Dr. Hartwig, as one of the leaders in organometallic research, has written the best reference on the subject. Any entering graduate student in the field or allied fields will do well to have this tome on their shelf. Many groups use this as the reference for their own research and a cursory glance will tell you why. Filled to the brim with seminal references and on just about every topic imaginable. This book is the organometallic equivalent to organic's Carey and Sundberg's Advanced Organic Chemistry. Great text to bring anyone up to speed in the field while pulling double duty as the first stop for researchers.

It is kind of a dry read, but that isn't what I disliked about it. It really would benefit from a glossary. The Psychology of Hearing has one, but this book does not, nor does it even hint at important vocabulary within the body of the text. When I'm looking for something and skimming the pages, it would help to have key points in bold like pretty much every other textbook I've ever used.There aren't too many people dropping $80 on this as a casual read, so if you're reading this then you're probably stuck with having to get this for a class so it really doesn't matter what the reviews say. You may love it, you may not. Good luck with it nonetheless. I hope that your instructor is engaging.

I'm an adult, I purposely avoid the adult section in the library because all the fictional books for adults or either boring, cheesy, or full of sex. A Court of Mist and Fury has several instances of GRAPHIC sex! I was horrified. I thought it would get better but NOOO! The first book had one scene I was bothered by, but this book has like, 5, maybe 6 parts. Again, GRAPHIC sex!!!!Oh and (SPOILER skip the the end of this comment) I personally don't want to read a story where the main character runs away from her problems and someone who truly loves her to ends up with a truly horrible and disgusting person who routinely threatens and manipulates people, including her. Is she an idiot? It would seem so.I really don't understand how this is a YA book. My younger sisters (ages 14 and 16) read YA books. This is unacceptable. If I wanted to read porn I would go to the section in the library that has porn, and check out a porn book. I DO NOT want to be ambushed.Again, GRAPHIC sex. Don't read.

I’m in grad school now and I don’t get much time for leisure reading, but this book has reminded me of why I love Young Adult fantasy…and then some. I didn’t read it just once, I read it TWICE because it was just that satisfying. In ACOMAF, we see Feyre faced with the shattered pieces of her heart and identity caused by what was done to her as well as by the decisions she made while “Under the Mountain” (in ACOTAR). Maas does an excellent job developing Feyre’s character in a believable way – one that worked really well with the storyline. Throughout the book, the reader goes on an emotional journey with Feyre as she grows into her power and demonstrates strength that comes from respecting herself and what she is now (a pretty damn strong High Fae) – an excellent thing for any young woman to read. I was also SO excited to see the twist on the Hades/Persephone-like plot (Rhysand/Feyre) that Maas weaved in there, not to mention the introduction of a pretty epic team fighting the bad guys together. Maas also does an excellent job in expanding the universe of this book. In summary, ACOMAF is emotionally charged, touching, and serious, but it is also funny and wildly entertaining. The ending leads me to believe that there will be a pretty IMPRESSIVE conclusion to the trilogy.Note to the parents: This book can get pretty steamy/descriptive in terms of romantic scenes. (I’m just alerting you if you are very cautious about the types of books/scenes you want your kids to read given their age range.) If it helps, I feel like the author was very purposeful in including those scenes, and if anything, I think things are described in a way that is healthier than what’s in a lot of teen fiction nowadays (ie: destructive relationships).

THIS BOOK IS AN ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE. Seriously, I've never been this ridiculously happy throughout an entire story.Feyre's character growth is incredible. I wasn't a huge fan of her in ACOTAR, but she really reminds me of Aelin in Heir of Fire here with how she learns to respect herself and shape her own future. Feyre developed so much incredible self-awareness, honesty, and bravery. Rhys supports her, but she doesn't grow through him (which is SO important). She became pretty badass by the end and she's now one of my favorite characters? Man, this book shocked the hell out of me so many times.I can't really summarize all these feels right now, so here's a list of the awesome:- The Court of Dreams/Rhysand's family- every. single. detail. of the Night Court (I expect amazing fan art)- answers & the insight into all of Rysand's previous actions- actual healthy relationships with communication (for friendships too)- how much Rhys supports and respects Feyre as an equal- the fact that this was never a love triangle!- Feyre leaves a toxic relationship for herself instead of another guy- awesome action scenes and pacing that never got slow- Feyre's POV stopped romanticizing Tamlin's controlling behavior from ACOTAR- Hades/Persephone retellings where Hades is the good guy are my favorite- how Feyre's sisters got worked into the plot- THAT ENDING aghhh it was painful but the next book will be amazingI've seen some concerns that this book might be too steamy for teens, but I really don't think it's a bad thing for teens to read about consent in an empowering relationship for a change. I have seen SO many unhealthy relationships in YA books that romanticize abusive & controlling guys who are attractive because they're threatening (??). Rhys turns out to be the complete opposite of that here. It was definitely more explicit than I thought was necessary, but I also think adults who shield teens from sex scenes have either forgotten what being a teen is like or truly don’t grasp the materials that teens see/read/live. Society has enough stuff that shames teen girls, so if they want to read this then let them see a strong female character going after the life & relationship that's healthiest for her.And before you ignore this book because of a potential love triangle or the risk that Rhysand's previous behavior would be considered acceptable, let me assure you that this book hightails it in the opposite direction. Maas is not condoning abusive relationships in any way -- quite the opposite.It's funny to look back at my review of ACOTAR last year where I said I'd be a way bigger fan of this series if the books dropped Tamlin and went to the Night Court. Hallelujah. I mean, I was somewhat into ACOTAR, but ACOMAF just became one of my all-time favorite books.
