Good SAT Math prep

Extremely consistent. The author breaks down every example into something that is easily digestible with an acronym to boot. Would really recommend this. Great job!!!

A concise and comprehensive breakdown of every sort of problem you'll face in math, along with some useful strategies. It doesn't take long to read, but it covers a lot of material - and yet no more than needed for the test.Looks to me like all the typos some people were talking about are fixed. It's nice that e-books can be updated. Too bad old comments can't.

I got the most recent updated version of the book, and it's a good source of review. The practice problems at the end were really helpful because I could work on the type of problems that I was struggling with. It pretty much went through everything I needed to know for the Math section. I feel a lot more confident now about my upcoming SAT.

Found several errors in the 10 hardest math problems. I used it in a class before reviewing. Big mistake. Embarrassing. Students complained. Rookie errors. I wonder if this book was reviewed at all. You know it's bad when the students are finding mistakes.

This a great comprehensive math review for the new SAT. You will find some sub-headings in this book that you will not find elsewhere including "Unknown Proportions," "Multiply by the Reciprocal," and "Abstract Polynomials." The trigonometry section will have you especially well prepared for any trigonometry problems that the SAT throws your way.

Not the most in-depth information.

I recently finished reading the Prep Expert SAT Math book. I read it as part of the Prep Expert course, and was frankly amazed how the content in it helped me to brush up on those rusty skills I haven't used in a long time. The exercises superseded my expectations, in that they walked me through cursory skills I know I needed to practice. After working through the book, I feel I am in a much more adventagous position to do well on the math section of the SAT. It was a really helpful SAT math guide, so thank you guys for that! I take my test on October 1st.

Not sure what I was expecting but this is largely several pages of lists, many of which have no additional information or images. At this point I do not know how good the recommendations are but will see when I go to Krakow. So far, I am not impressed.

Surely the author spent many hours in the edition of this practical and interesting book on the ancient city of Krakow, Poland's former royal capital.An experienced traveler will find cultural information about the Jews, the Schindler factory (remember the Spielberg's movie?), historic buildings, museums of all kinds (the author offers a list of museums and day of the week you can visit them free of charge), excursions around the city, like water park, Auschwitz, mountains, etc.In addition to offering the guide of the most important tourist sites, the author also offers top lists of the best restaurants (including vegetarian), bars, markets, gay spots, festivals, coffee shops, nightclubs, hostels, etc. He includes links to the websites where you can get more information. Also, the author includes links to maps, so the traveler can locate the sites very easy.I highly recommend this book because the author knows the city very well and gives good advice, so you can feel like a native of Krakow during your visit.

This is a good starter book on what turtles and tortoises require. It outlines many of the types of turtles and tortoises, has tons of color pictures, and is chock full of info.It goes over habitats, feeding, breeding, hibernation, dangers (fire ants, spinach) etc. including practical tips from the authors.Unfortunately, this book convinced me that it is not very easy to keep turtles and tortoises and this would be a major investment and worry, so I decided not to.Oh well.

Great book to learn about turtles but not so much for Tortoises

When I got my turtle, Tim, I didn't know a thing about turtles - so I got this book as well as did a ton of research online. This book has TONS of good information (and pictures) about how to care for and house turtles. My turtle is several years old now, and is very happy and healthy. I recommend this to anyone who is looking to get a pet turtle. The reality of turtle-keeping is that it is a LOT of work. Turtles are dirty, and even with high powered filters their tanks need constant cleaning. I didn't know what I was getting in to, but it's worth the effort! Turtles are wonderful pets, and this book will give you all the basic information you need to know.

Being from Delaware County (Springfield) and having grown up with the repeated disappointments of our hometown teams throughout my youth, it was such a capivating experience to live through and always remember the Stanley Cup years of the mid seventy's. I played hockey because I loved the Flyers and I celebrated with everyone else hoisting my ceramic Flyers mug and toasted the historical event that helped to transform Philly sports. The book bought back many wonderful memories and it was as if I was standing there watching it all unfold again. I loved it and it bought many smiles and great memories back home again. Truly Fred Shero was right on (saying of the day in the 70's) when he said, "Win today and we walk together forever". What a team, what a coach and what a terrific memory.

This book is getting very difficult to find - apparently had limited run and most people who bought it seem to want to hang onto their copy. For good reason. This book offers wonderful insight into what made each individual of the '73-74 & '75 Stanley Cup Champions did that was vital to the contribution towards back-to-back Titles. Many have suffered setbacks not uncommon to the normal person.This group of players is perhaps more beloved then any in my hometown of Philly's history...and with good reason. Probably THE most despised team to ever strap on skates....every road visit was a sellout, as the opponent's fans LUVED hating these guys...for good reason. Aside from having one of the most skilled teams in the league (plus TOP goaltender) they would outhustle and often (for good measure) beat the crap out of you to get the win. LUVED watching these guys as a little kid at the Spectrum. Hammer, Hound, Moose, Big Bird, Clarkie, etc...one other thing of note was the sheer size of the celebration parades thru Philly after the Championships...2 million in '74 & 2.3 million in '75. Many renown sports broadcasters still comment on the size/spectacle of those as NO other city had those kind of crowds for championship teams (save maybe the '69 Mets/Jets)...just didn't happen. Truly unique team that 40 years later Still captures the hearts of many older Philly fans.Great book, highly recommend by novice author that keeps it interesting and not puff piece. If you can get this book used/in nice condition for under $50 do it....will only be harder to find as time goes on.

During the 70s I was a rabid New York Ranger fan and hated the Broad Street bullies with a passion. My biggest thrill was seeing Dave Schultz get his clock cleaned (which unfortunately didn't happen too often). Consequently I approached this book with a little trepidation since I was expecting a Stan Fischler type of read promoting the Flyers as a flawless group of men who put everything together for a few years and then rode off into the glorious sunset. This book is anything but that. The players and their coach are exposed with all their warts. Divorce, death in the family, alcoholism, depression and getting screwed by the organization are shown to be every bit part and parcel of the NHL player as they are the man on the street. I came away with a new found respect for these players who for years represented for me everything that is evil in the National Hockey League. (The exception being Bobby Clarke who proves what a jerk he is by freely admitting that he intentionally broke the ankle of a star Russian player just to get him off the ice).Highly recommended for hockey fans who fondly remember this era of slam-bang hockey without face shields and few helmets.

My family has been going to Walt Disney World every other year for the past 11 years, and we love it. If we didn't live so far away we would probably go more often.Birnbaum's is that simple travel guide that people buy that gives them a taste of Disney. It is by no means the best book on the market to prepare you for Walt Disney World(and yes, you should do a lot of preparation), but it is a great place to start if you have never been before. I say that because it has pictues and animation that get your brain turning for Mickey and Co.,With that said here are the cons of the book:1. It is by no means exhaustive, it is not going to tell you the details of things that you need to know. So what that means is if you have never been before and have no clue what do do, then buy this book plus another one that is far more detailed (I would suggest the Unofficial guide or the Disney Passporter).2. It doesn't change much. The Birnbaum guide is released every year, but I've noticed that very little changes in the book over time. If you have this book from as far back as 4 years ago, you probably don't need to buy a new one. I buy this book every time I go, and yes I know I'm not following my own advise, but I have a major Disney addiction. Yes, my name is James, and I have a problem. But back to the lack of change, I have a birnbaums books that date back to 1998 and they have some pictures in that guide that they still use in the 2009 guide.3. There is definitely a Disney slant to the guide. If you are looking for an honest critical review of Walt Disney World then go to another book(unofficial guide) because you won't find it here. You can tell that Renfro and Birnbaums had to make some type of deal with Disney to become the "official" guide, part of that had to be an agreement not to critisize the mouse. Honestly, at times the reviews almost sound like propaganda rather than a travel guide.But with all that's going against the guide, Birnbaums is great casual reading for the person who has never been before, and is a must the Disney addicts like my self.

This book is essential for a Disney trip. We have been to Disney six times in eight years, and each time we get the latest Birnbaum's to plan our trip. Usually it very accurate, and has great tips about changes from year to year. The information is very accessible, and the book is easy to carry along (as opposed to using the Disney website, which can be slow, and isn't easy to access during your trip unless you bring your computer and plan to use it often). We plan our trips carefully, make dining reservations months in advance, and do our best to maximize our time in Disney for the kids' benefit. Making sure to experience the most while still letting the kids get to bed early and fit in naps (to keep everyone happy) is a tricky balance. We wouldn't get to see/do/experience nearly as much without Birnbaum's!

This book was worth every penny! I bought this book more for my 6 year old daughter than for myself. Our family went to Disney in June and we took this book with us. Our daughter marked the rides and attractions in the book that she was interested in, and it really helped to have an idea of what we wanted to do when we went to each park.There are pages in the book dedicated to each park at WDW. The rides and attractions are rated by kids - by whether they are scary, rough, dark, wet and/or loud. This really helped my daughter decide which rides/attractions she could handle and which ones she felt she should pass up.There are also pages in the back for your child to write about their trip, with guiding questions to help them, as well as autograph pages for when your child meets up with the Disney Characters. We did not really use these sections, since we bought an autograph book and chunky pen at the first park we visited.
