This book is fantastic! My son (7yo) loves it, as does our whole family. Added bonus, the last pages include all of the groups as well as their schedule of play and the grid to keep track of the scores and points for each. I would highly recommend.

I gave one as birthday gift and gave to my own child. They both read cover to cover. Great pics!

I bought it as a gift and didn't realize it is a children's book. My mistake, I guess.

They are especially nice for the Christian student who is interested in learning more about the Bible at the same time they are learning about better writing. We are very pleased.My younger daughter LOVES writing and, although she struggles with scholastics, she has been able to do very well using these books to improve her writing and learn many things previously missed due to her learning challenges.This is my second child to use this series of books. Other books in the series are Learning English with Capitalization & Punctuation, Learning English through Spelling and Composition, and Learning English with the Bible English Grammar Diagrams Based of the Book of Joshua. The first, now in college, is an "A" student in writing in spite of not liking to write at all (prefers Math).

This is children's literature at its best! Wing tells a great story and she uses big words to explore a powerful historical event which conveys to young readers that they are smart and capable! While the book covers decades of time, the story line hums along and keeps the reader engaged. This is exactly the type of book I want to read to my grandchildren because it offers an example of the change that one person can bring into the world. I also really loved the illustrations and found them to be a perfect mix of modern and realistic to the timeline of the story.

My 7-year-old did a research paper on Jackie Kennedy and gave a presentation. This was one resource she used to learn more about Jackie's accomplishments. The story of saving Grand Central really piqued my daughter's interest and she ended up talking so much about Jackie for months after. This book was such a hit, she brought it to school to read to her class. As a parent, I appreciate how engaging the writing is, and that it's appropriate for varied age levels, from advanced younger readers through 6th grade.

This is a good book to read to little ones. It teaches about how activism can help save our history or change the course of history. Jackie loved NY and recognized the architural value of Grand Central to all Americans.

My son loves non-fiction and NYC, and this book was the perfect fit. It is extremely well written and very touching. This book offers an example of how people can make a difference in the world, and how important it is to preserve our history. GREAT JOB Natasha Wing!!!

I liked the way this book was written in order for children to understand. They need to develop an understanding of our history and the need to preserve the things that tell of our history. Whether it is a building, a home, furniture or anything else. They also need to understand the hard work sometimes requited to preserve these items.

I love this book. It combines my passion for good architecture with one of my favorite figures from US History. I, too, fight to save historic buildings. Teh artwork is beautiful, and the kids I have read it to also enjoy it.

Any Jackie fan should pick up this book. The illustrations are great and the story is too. Lovely item that arrived just on time and in perfect condition.

What you doing out here?'"), then sticks to her, each part of his body in turn. My two-year-old loves this book, and requests it often. She likes the slang, and asks for it to be explained each time. She makes believe she is carrying a croker sack, and sometimes she decides she is Bruh Rabbit, and I am the tar baby girl. Lots of fun.

This was a present and the three year old child loves the story. The pictures are great. The seller is highly recommended. The book arrived quickly, in good condition and the shipping charges were reasonable.

What a great book that reminded me of my childhood summers spent in the western part of Tennessee. My dad's home there made this tale believeable for me as a child of the 50s.

This book is an interesting twist on an old story. Bruh Rabbit gets into Bruh Wolf's well-tended garden and eats his corn and peanuts. Bruh Wolf makes a "scarey-crow' in hopes that will keep Bruh Rabbit out. Bruh Rabbit comes back still. The next step Bruh Wolf takes is to make a tar baby girl. When Bruh Rabbit see the tar baby girl he gets mad because it will not speak to him. He ends up hitting her, kicking her and trying to bite her. Of course he gets stuck to the tar baby girl in the process! Bruh Wolf comes alos ang tries to get him. Bruh Rabbit tricks himself out of the situation by begging not to be thrown into the briar patch. Bruh Wolf falls for the trick and throws him in but Rabbit really loves it there! Fooled again!It has extraordinary illustrations that would captivate the attention of any child, even ones with short attention spans.I would recommed this book for kids ages 5-8. They will enjoy the story read aloud or to read silently to themselves

I purchased this book a couple of weeks ago, and I'm so glad I did. Reading this book is so much fun (if you get into the characters)! And my daughter absolutely enjoyed the story! I have another Brer Rabbit book that I sometimes read to my daughter, but it is nowhere near as entertaining. My daughter has even asked me to "Read it again!" after the first read; it is THAT much fun. But when you read it aloud (how else would you read it), it is imperative to actually get into the character-speak, otherwise, you might miss it.

The illustrations in this book are beautiful. It is a wonderful tale for Brer Rabbit fans. My second grader read it on her own. A bonus: there is an AR test for it!

This is a summary of one of the best books I've ever read on the subject of food. As Director of the Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine, Chairman of the Board of the Institute for Functional Medicine and director of the Ultra-Wellness Center, Dr. Hyman is highly qualified to offer an excellent approach to eating healthy. The full length book offers the reasons why a very high percentage of our population is obese or overweight and offers a solutions. He tells us how we have been fooled into eating things that are actually unhealthy.This may surprise you. He backs it up with scientific research.The full book is very clear as to how we can change our eating habits to be healthy and feel better. If you are serious about living healthier I recommend that you skip the summary and go directly to the full book.

I bought the Kindle Edition of this book yesterday, and it is a VERY difficult read because of poor grammar and syntax issues. That disturbs me because the book is rich with valid information about the extreme damage that has been inadvertently done to the human diet by American Agribusiness since the end of WWII in an effort to meet the food quantity needs of the "Baby Boomer" population explosion. Had I not been well informed on this subject before buying Dr. Hyman's book I would most likely have stopped reading at the first chapter, the grammar and syntax are so bad. To many people poor grammar and/or syntax is an indication the writer is poorly informed, but this is not the case here. I hope the publisher reads this revue and hires a well qualified English Language Editor to clean up this problem because the book does contain information that is equally as critical to long-term human survival as the global warming issue. "Knowledge is power." At least, the English language Kindle version of this book needs a thorough editing if it is to reach for its full "power" potential of spreading critical and accurate information about the irreversible damage that is underway to this planet's food supply.

I absolutely love the summary of this book. It's simple, direct and to the point. It's perfect for highlighting key takeaways and offers great advice. I basically use this as a food bible.

Bought to use as guide to correct a digestive problem. Very bad grammar and sentence structure. Too general, should have bought the book. They need a proof reader. Learnt is not a word!

It is not what I thought it would be. I thought it would list the foods with quantities to eat and to avoid. I'm sorry I bought it.

Its an easy read as its supposed to be. I wish I had bought the book authored by Hyman, the typos and poor English in this "summary" devalue the information.

So instead of decreasing the bad comments in a child I read the book to, I see him using some the actual distasteful comments from the book in his own language when he is frustrated. So he did not learn the intended lesson. I think maybe it should have been written in the "positive," and show what happens when you use friendly comments rather than some of the bad thoughts floating around in your head.

I bought this for my 4 year old after he made a string of insensitive comments to strangers. However, this book would do WAY more harm than good! It shows a boy saying honest but mean things to people, and I just know it would give my son a whole new treasure trove of insults to draw from! And then the solution offered is SO convoluted and long-winded, for a child especially, but even for me!Not sure if I should just throw it away...can't imagine this ever coming in handy.

Disappointed in this book as I am a HUGE Julia Cook fan and have many, many of her books for my kids. The switching between scenarios is very confusing- I had trouble as an adult following the book. Also I think using trees as opposed to people makes it hard for the kids to relate. Sorry, I had to hold onto this book and not let my 8 year old read. It would bring up more questions than help. Sorry!! Julia’s other books are great!!

I think the story itself is good, but three pages didn't come through correctly and I can't read them at all. I can't even guess at what they say because the words and letters are all jumbled up. I'm very disappointed that I paid almost $10.00 for this digital copy and I can't even guess at what the three pages say. I had accidentally clicked on the digital copy instead of buying the regular copy and then couldn't reverse it. I clicked everywhere to try to figure it out because I didn't want a digital copy in the first place. I wish there was a way to get my money back!

Although I bought this for our children, this book also speaks to me in a deeply comforting way. The story is exquisitely nuanced and holds feelings so tenderly. It describes loss with a metaphor that is not threatening or too intense for young children, yet direct enough to be healing.It approaches a loss with clarity while also not obscuring the possibility of other losses in life. Yet the author soothes those fears with the gentle rhythms of the story. I found myself quietly choking up as I read it. The beauty and hope that came through held so many layers of meaning for me. I really appreciate the perspective that it gives our children (even on pet loss,) but I also appreciate the solace it offers me for my own losses.This is a remarkable book and I wish that all parents could have this for their children.

Having a child who has "filter problems" I thought this would be great for her. Absolutely not! She needs to work on thinking kind thoughts where it all begins, not bashing people in her mind. This might be one of the worst Julia Cook books I have ever read. Too bad I missed the return window on this book because I refuse to keep it in my house.

I teach 2nd grade and my students ABSOLUTELY LOVE this book!!!! It has reminded them how to work on their social filter, and we have re-read a few more times thru out the school year (not my choice ...but the students have requested to hear the read aloud once more). Definitely a great book to have and many of my cohorts have borrowed it from me as well!

I love this book. I am an elementary school counselor and I use it with kids to show them what is appropriate to say and what we should keep in our thinking bubble. After I read this book we play a game to go along with it. I have the kids be social filters and decide which phrases say in the thinking bubble and which go in the talking bubble.

Jerome Frieman earned his PhD from Kent State University in Ohio. He has been at Kansas State University since 1968.
